「村上祭の屋台行事」のユネスコ無形文化遺産登録が決定しました

インド・ニューデリーで開催されたユネスコ無形文化遺産保護条約第20回政府間委員会において、12月11日にユネスコ無形文化遺産代表一覧表に記載（以下、登録）されている「山・鉾・屋台行事」の拡張提案が認められ「村上祭の屋台行事」を含む4件の登録が決定いたしました。

「村上祭の屋台行事」がユネスコ無形文化遺産「山・鉾・屋台行事」に追加登録されることが決定いたしました。今年で392年の開催を迎えた村上祭の屋台行事を今日まで大切に継承してきました先人たちの想い、そしてこれまでの取組が高く評価されたことは、大変栄誉なことであり、この上ない喜びを感じております。
城下町村上の地で受け継がれてきた伝統文化が世界に認められたことは我々の誇りであり、長い歴史の中で、祭りを伝承してこられた関係者の皆様に改めて深く敬意を表しますとともに心から感謝申し上げます。この伝統と文化を次世代へ確実に継承し、国内外へその魅力を発信することで多くの方から関心を持っていただき、地域の新たな繁栄につながることを心より期待しております。

The decision has been made to add the “Murakami Festival Float Procession” to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list under “Yama, Hoko, and Yatai Processions.” It is a tremendous honor and a profound joy that the dedication of our predecessors, who have carefully preserved the Murakami Festival Float Procession—now in its 392nd year—and the efforts made thus far have been so highly valued.
It is our pride that the traditional culture passed down in the castle town of Murakami has gained worldwide recognition. We once again express our deepest respect and sincere gratitude to all those involved who have preserved this festival throughout its long history. We sincerely hope that by reliably passing this tradition and culture to the next generation and promoting its appeal both domestically and internationally, we will attract widespread interest, leading to new prosperity for our region.
